The gift of flight inspired this piece, the lines, the geometry of it. I tried like hell to capture how my imagination interprets the golden gift of flight. Not just the blessing of super powers of actual factual flight but the metaphorical ability to rise above obstacles, hurdle them like olympians, almost at leisure. That feeling of a simple flap of the wings, the initial seperation of my feet from the ground, the easy, immediate lift. The following flaps of the wings, the gradual rise off the ground. That freedom. That freedom to rise, and be above it all. Look down upon the maze, recognizing the routes, versus being fulling immersed in them, lost from moment to moment. Ascension. A wanting for more.
